Skulls January 22nd - 31st

Day 22. Referenced small skull, with a few roses to fill out the page.

 

Day 23. Spider skull, well the ideas there if not the execution.

 

Day 24. Don't really know what I was thinking but here it is!

 

Day 25. My first attempt at a kapala type skull.

 

Day 26. Skull with roses, can't really go wrong can you?

 

Day 27. Tattoo idea layout, based on a tattoo I once saw.

 

Day 28. No excuses for this effort, just drawing without thinking, I think coming up with different ideas is going to be the hardest thing about this project.

 

 

Day 29. I was going for a pirate look, ended up with a gang member look, nevermind.

 

Day 30. Its been a long month, that's all I can say.

 

Day 31. Thank God, end of January, it has been fun and frustrating, here's to next month when I can hopefully keep up with this project.

 

Skulls January 15th - 21st

Day 15. Quick rough sketch based on the logo for Discharge.

Day 16. Used reference of a baby skull.

Day 17. Used reference for the skull. Helping me out with correct proportions.

Day 18. Candy skull type thing.

Day 19. Used reference for the skull, need to work on my fingerwaves and general water flow.

Day 20. A quick Victorian looking effort.

Day 21. Predator skull.

Skulls January 8th - 14th

Day 8. Dragon inspired skull.

 

Day 9. Didn't really come out as I was planning, but the ideas there.

 

 

Day10. This is the kind of thing I sketch out for layout but really need some reference to make it OK for a tattoo.

Day 11. Used a real skull photo for reference here.

Day 12. I really don't know, maybe with a bit of work? who knows?

Day 13. Could make a decent tattoo, quite pleased with it.

Day 14. A popular theme.

Skulls January 1st - 7th

Day 1. This is my first sketch, just a quick roughed out skull, done just before bedtime on the 1st, it'd been a busy day and I nearly fell at the first hurdle by not getting a sketch done but I managed to rough out this skull quickish just to make sure I started.

 

 

 

 Day 2. Busy day at the shop but sketched this out, not great, really need to put more effort into planning out what to sketch instead of just putting pencil to paper.

Day 3. Still just sketching randomly, but ideas for basic small tattoos.

 

Day 4. Pretty bad candy skull, I'd drawn up a better one on scrap paper before this , then sketched this poor effort, wish I'd thrown it away and drawn another but it can stay here as a lesson to do better.

 

Day 5. Skull with snake, quite happy with this as layout goes need to reference some real skulls and some real snakes, but it looks tattooable.

 

Day 6.  Just sketching the usual type of skull I might do if someone just asks for one to be free-handed on.

Day 7. Well its different, not a lot else to say.

January - SKULLS

January's theme is going to be Skulls.
Thought I'd be easy on myself to start off, I've drawn a lot of skulls over the years so have an idea how to do them. Will get round to using some reference for these instead of going by memory, but will hopefully be fun to do, everybody loves a skull!
